Trading Manager
As primary client liaison responding to questions by telephone, email and chat, you are not just supporting a regular online brokerage service. You are providing exceptional service to Canada’s active traders and investor’s who are using the most sophisticated online direct access trading tools available. You enable clients to take their trading to the next level.
Successful candidates not only accrue a wealth of trading and order management knowledge but an insight into the sales, compliance, account opening and administrative aspect of the brokerage industry.
This position encompasses more than just “selling” an online brokerage service. You are introducing Canada’s active traders and investors to next generation direct access trading tools. You enable clients to take their trading to the next level. You are striving to hear from your clients – “Wow! You guys are great – I wish I found you earlier!” Assigned the role of Designated Account Manager to your clients, your responsibilities are more far reaching than just closing. You must ensure a positive client experience with the goal of effectively determining your prospects needs and objectives, providing solutions based on benefits, guiding them through the account opening process and establishing the trust required to become their much-appreciated “point-person” while a client of TradeFreedom.
You will not be required to place cold calls nor contact your “network” of friends to build your book. We receive thousands of qualified prospective inquires every month – more than enough to keep you busy!
Successful candidates not only accrue a wealth of trading/brokerage knowledge but training and implementation of sophisticated advancing strategies and client relationship building and retention skills.
Qualifications:
- Qualified CSC and CPH
- Successful track record of in/out bound telephone sales skills
- Excellent bi-lingual communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated to succeed and possess the ability to excel in a competitive, fast paced sales environment
- Demonstrated commitment to detailed database entry and record keeping to ensure efficient management of prospects and clients
- Commitment to provide us with regular feedback as to our offerings as well as competitive pressures and where we should be focusing our efforts
- Must be eligible for registration as a Investment Representative (IR)

The Trading Manager reports to the Director, Service & Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate trade instructions to traders in a concise and detailed manner
- Responsible for ensuring that all systems are operational and functioning correctly i.e. Trading platform, order routing and quote feeds
- Execute purchases and sales of equities, option trades, fixed income and mutual fund orders as authorized by clients
- Manage and execute trading reorganizations, special offers, option exercise/assignments
- Manage all aspects of trades (retail/institutional); ensuring the proper settlement of all equity trades, researching and solving all problems that occur
- Minimize trading errors through accurate and thorough processing of customer orders to reduce firm and customer exposure
- Status electronic orders to appropriate exchanges and vendors
- Validate and approve security certificate deposits
- Generate trading reports, organize and file all trading documentation

- Provide training and development of Investment Representatives and Client Support Manager
- In the absence or incapacity of the Designated Registered Options Principal or when the trading activity of TradeFreedom requires additional qualified persons in connection with the supervision of the business, you shall assume the authority and responsibility of the registered options principal.
- Some of the functions include overseeing the option positions upon expiration and contacting clients with respect to expiring options positions. When assignments and exercise notices are received from our clearing firm, he adjusts the relevant security positions (options and underlying securities) and notifies the client of such.
- Liaison with department heads to ensure interdepartmental communication and initiatives.
- Work with senior management to establish and implement corporate direction, goals, projects.
