Direct Access Defined
Direct Access Trading (DAT) represents the next generation of online trading that allows for direct and instant market access, assuring that there is no delay in executing orders. It provides active traders and investors the ability to effectively capture spikes of volatility and momentum in the markets, giving you the opportunity to take profits and minimize losses. DAT allows you to trade directly with another client, a market maker on NASDAQ or specialist on the floor of an exchange, without broker interference.
For a detailed explanation of DAT and its benefits to you, please refer here.
Isn't my regular online broker providing me with direct access?
No. Some online brokers are using direct access in their marketing literature but they do not allow you to trade your own orders. You place your order on their web sites and it is emailed (as opposed to you calling in) to their trading floor. They then route your orders to the exchanges. If you are not getting lightning fast trades and instant trade confirmations - you do not have a direct access to the markets.
Do direct access traders need to be licensed?
No. You trade as a client of TradeFreedom.
What is an active trader or investor?
An active trader is defined as someone who places a minimum of 2-4 trades per day. An active investor will on average place 2-4 trades per week. Active traders and investors are interested in profiting from short-term gains found in the daily momentum of the markets.
Why should I switch from my broker to TradeFreedom?
